If you're in Dhaka and looking for a cozy spot to indulge in some delicious local snacks, look no further than Umm Cafe. Nestled in Johury Mohollah Ring Rd, this charming little cafe is a haven for food enthusiasts, particularly those with a penchant for Bengali street food and comforting tea.

As you walk into Umm Cafe, you are greeted by an inviting ambiance that exudes a retro charm reminiscent of the 90s. The cozy setup, although small, creates an intimate environment that's perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a solo snack break. While the cafe may lack extensive air conditioning as some customers point out, the warm and welcoming atmosphere compensates for it with a unique character.

The menu here is a delightful fusion of traditional offerings and innovative twists. Dive into their Mango Lassi, which has garnered rave reviews for its creamy texture and balanced sweetness, making it a refreshing companion to any dish. The Cheese Moghlai has also been highlighted as a must-try; overflowing with rich flavors and generous portions of cheese, it's a dish that appeals to both traditionalists and modern foodies alike. Similarly, the Pizza Moghlai provides an interesting twist that surprises patrons with its delightful taste, though some note it’s on the pricier side given its size.

For those looking for crispy snacks, the Singara is a popular choice, though opinions vary. While some customers found the deep-fried goodness to be overly salty, others reveled in its texture and flavor, especially when paired with a steaming cup of Milk Tea or the rich Coffee Tea that's prepared to a delightful finish. If you're a fan of deep-fried delights, the Kima Puri and Alu Puri offer a wonderful experience with puffed flavors that dance on the palate.

Customer experiences tell a vivid tale of Umm Cafe. One patron describes it as a hidden gem, calling attention to their Malai Cha, a creamy concoction that lifts spirits instantly. Others have praised the Koliza Shingara and the inviting ambiance where echoes of laughter and clinking plates create a vibrant tapestry of local culture. Though some reviews cite inconsistencies in service and frying techniques, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and eagerness to return.

Whether you're a local or just visiting, a stop at Umm Cafe promises a deliciously satisfying experience. With an array of flavorful snacks and mood-lifting beverages, it is firmly established as a noteworthy stop on your culinary journey through Dhaka. Mini cafe with varieties of fried food and tea options. The alu puri and cheese moglai was moderate, the prawn puri and singara couldn't meet the expectation). Those were over fried and singara were salty. Singara was not worth it. The mango lassi and pizza moglai were amazing, surpassed all other moglais I have ever had. The sauce is made of raw tamarinds and has a mild sweet and spicy kick. The lassi was less thick, but the flavour and taste was unique than other lassis. Recommended Though it has very limited seating arrangement, the innermost corner has a nice window interiored with vintage books and radio. The uncle seemed patriotic, liberation war time songs were being played instead of agitating and rowdy English and Hindi songs. The prices are quite high for the proportion, but the taste is awesome. Prices: Alu puri: BDT 20 for 2 Prawn puri: BDT 30 for 2 Cheese Singara: BDT 30 for 2 (very small, 2 can easily fit into a palm) Chicken liver Singara: BDT 25 for 2 Chicken cheese moglai: BDT 60 (mini) Pizza moglai: BDT 75 (mini)

Ummm cafe was a surprise, I tried their Tea, cheese mughlai and pizza mughlai. I gotta say the hype was worth it. Them cheese was plenty and tasted really good. I'm satisfied with the taste and ambiance. The only negative thing was the service and lack of air conditioning inside.

I ordered pizza moglai whice was good in taste but a little bit pricy according to its size. Chicken chesse singara was good. but, According to its price size is very very tiny. Pizza moglai and chicken chesse singara was not worth the money because of its high price. Chicken momo was average. Mango lassi was good.

This small food shop is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Their Malai Cha offers a creamy, sweet. The Kima Puri is a delightful, puffed puris filled with meat, balanced with of spice. The Cheesy Moghlai is an inventive fusion, combining traditional Moghlai flavors with cheese.

Best! Loved the koliza shingara and the mughlai. The alu paratha was filled with potatoes and the tea was amazing. Also the chicken shingara was good. Price was reasonable. Ambience is cozy and gives 90's vibes. Loved the place and I will definitely visit again
